Various reports have leaked that Nintendo is unveiling its brand new portable console behind closed doors at the previous Gamescom and more recently at the Tokyo Games Show. According to Oldpuck, the leaker on Famiboards, Nintendo would have taken the opportunity to make predictions regarding the autonomy of the console and This will not meet everyone’s expectations.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be less durable than Switch OLED

If this rumor is true, Switch 2 will be more durable than the first version of the Nintendo Switch, but It’s less autonomous than the latest Switch OLED, which offers 4.5 to 9 hours of in-game battery life. With a duration of only 3 to 6 hours, autonomy may disappoint some players hoping for better. However, keep in mind that this Switch 2 will be much more powerful, with performance close to the PS4, so it was to be expected that the console would not last as long between charges as its predecessors.
If we believe another leaker, Nash Weedle, the next Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with the first generation games. Moreover, this also seems to be announced some games will receive updates that allow them to run at higher resolutions on the Switch 2, perhaps even 4K.
Since we know that the current Switch will continue to receive new games until at least March 2025, we can expect some of these to be cross-gen, meaning they will be released on both the Nintendo Switch and the new console.
