What is Snapchat Discover?

Snapchat Discover is a page on Snapchat that acts like a news feed. This page lets you view Stories from influencers, brands, publisher partners, and other accounts on Snapchat. The great thing is that you can get updates from accounts you don’t follow or are friends with. Like other streams, what you see in Snapchat Discover is recommended and compiled content based on your browsing history.

Can You View Snapchat Stories Without Friends Using Snapchat Discover?

Unfortunately, there is no way to view Snapchat Stories of people you are not friends with. Snapchat was intentionally designed that way. What you can see on Snapchat Discover ranges from news reports to general content. Therefore, you cannot see Stories and Snaps from normal people.

On the flip side, you can hide your Snapchat Story from someone you’re not friends with. So if you don’t want them to see some of your Snaps, you don’t have to unfriend them.

3 Tips for Viewing the Snapchat Story of Someone You Are Not Friend of

You can’t view Snapchat Stories without someone’s friend, but there are three workarounds for this issue in case you’re desperate.

1. Create a Secondary Account

The easiest way would be to create a secondary Snapchat account and add as a friend the person whose Snap you want to view. Of course, this only works if the person accepts your friend request. You can always delete the secondary Snapchat account after its purpose is fulfilled.

Make sure the other person doesn’t change their Snapchat username because you may not be able to find them on the disposable account you just created.

2. View the Story on Your Friend’s Account

If you know a friend connected to the person you want to control on Snapchat, ask their account to allow you to view the Story. This is more effective than the first hack because you don’t have to wait for someone else to accept your friend request. Unfortunately, you cannot view the Story even if they post it to your account. You will need to borrow their phone to check the story.

3. Use a Third Party App

Although effective, we do not recommend this third hack as it goes against Snapchat’s terms and conditions. However, some third-party apps can help you see other people’s Snaps and Stories without actually being friends with them.

Two third-party apps that can do this are Snapchat++ and Casper. However, we strongly recommend that you do not use such apps as they may lead to your Snapchat account being banned.

How to Access Snapchat Discover

While Snapchat Discover is available to everyone, you may not see it right away as it’s buried under several menus. The good news is that it’s easy to access as long as you know where to look.

1. Open Snapchat.
2. From the camera screen, swipe left to open To discover.
   
3. Swipe to view and tap any Snapchat Story.
   
4. If you touch three points The icon in Stories, you can send the Snap to your friends or even subscribe to the account that posted the story.
