Where to find Dead Space Crew Rigs and Master Override 1

Where to find Dead Space Crew Rigs and Master Override

Dead Space Master Override is obtained by finding crew gear such as Voelker, White, Holt, Dallas, Rousseau, Bailey, and Benson for the You Are Not Authorized mission. Do this and you can craft the Master Override, which will open several doors and safes.

This is the highest level of Dead Space security clearance, although according to the way things are set up, you still can’t access it until you reach level 3 access because most of the gear is locked behind different levels of security or story beats. So getting everything you need will take most of the game. However, once you have Dead Space Master Override, you have access to some useful late game resources and weapon upgrades behind locked doors and safes.

If you need general help to survive, Dead Space tips It should help point you in the best direction.

How to get Master Override and complete You Are Not Authorized

Once you complete the Meet Hammond at Captain’s Nest objective, you will be able to access the You are not authorized quest. In the same room you will find a red bridge security console. Interacting with it will start the side mission and give you a list of crew towers you need to acquire. Find them all and bring them back to this console to create Master Override. There are seven in total, and many of them are locked behind the story, meaning you can only access them as you unlock new areas. It’s more about ‘when’ than ‘where’ you can find them.

Now let’s take a look at where you can find all the Crew Rigs you need to find in Dead Space.

There are seven Dead Space crew gear available to unlock Master Override:

  1. Voelker’s Gear
  2. First Officer White’s Equipment
  3. Lieutenant Colonel Holt’s Equipment
  4. Mine Chief Dallas’s Gear
  5. Chief Engineer Rousseau’s Rig
  6. Communications Officer Bailey’s Equipment
  7. Tram Supervisor Benson’s Equipment

Voelker’s Gear

Voelker’s Rig is the first gear you can find in Dead Space before you reach the console that activates the side mission to find it. During the Reach Engineering Deck objective, you will be able to fly into space from the hanger at zero-G and then through a force field. If you wrap to the right of this area, you’ll eventually see a purple light, Voelker’s Rig, next to an O2 source.

First Officer White’s Equipment

White’s Rig is inaccessible until you go to calibrate ADS cannons to deal with asteroids. This will give you access to an outside trench. You will complete this section after destroying incoming rocks and interacting with all three weapons and syncing up. However, before returning to the ship, fly to the end of the trench and you’ll eventually find White and his gear on the left.

Lieutenant Colonel Holt’s Equipment

Holt’s Rig can be found injecting various Wheezes to clear the poison gas. Once you’ve killed Wheezer 4, you’ll be in a room with a door closed by a tentacle. Hit the glowing nodule to clear it and then go through the door. You’ll be in an upper portal area blocked by more tentacles on the left – clear them all and below you’ll find Holt’s Rig.

Mine Chief Dallas’s Gear

You’ll find Dallas’ Gear during the Find Executive Gear quest. In a small room on the side of the mining area, you must eliminate the anomalies by throwing the glowing rocks into the energy beam. This will also raise your Dead Space vulnerability to level 3, another important story you can’t miss.

Chief Engineer Rousseau’s Rig

As soon as you find Dallas’ gear and unlock level 3 security clearance, you’ll be able to get Rousseau’s gear. This will be when you have the goal of undoing the SOS sign. To get the gear, go to engineering and the area where the walls and floors are covered with the succulent growths you were before. The rig is inside the small, level 3 locked storage that you probably noticed before but couldn’t get into.

Communications Officer Bailey’s Equipment

You can access Bailey’s Rig when you receive the Fixing the Communications Sequence quest. At this point, during a conversation, the communication door will open, allowing you to enter a part of the ship that you were previously inaccessible to. Head to that area and you’ll find Bailey and his gear in his office.

Tram Supervisor Benson’s Equipment

Benson’s Rig will be accessible after leaving the Valor shuttle. When this episode is over, you will receive a message that someone has opened a door near the bridge atrium. Once again this will give you access to an area you weren’t able to reach before. In this case, it’s a path to the tramway where you’ll find Benson and his gear on the ground. You’ll also be jumped here by a few Necromorphs, so be prepared.

Once you have all the Crew Gear, head back to Captain’s Nest, where you meet Hammond and activate the console to begin the mission. With everything you need, the console will now give you the Master Override option. With this, you’ll be able to unlock any Master Override doors you cross in Ishimura – check the maps for star symbols that dictate the doors Master Override can open.

However, much more importantly, you will be able to open certain yellow safes. These are especially important late in the game for extra resources and final weapon upgrades. It’s worth collecting all the gear and creating the override as there will be a point in the game where you can no longer do this and you will lose access to anything with a master level unlocked.
