How to Make a FaceTime Call on iPhone

Making a FaceTime call on iPhone is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family members on iPhone, iPad or Mac.

FaceTime lets you see the people you’re talking to, making it a little more face-to-face.

FaceTime is the perfect way to say hello to grandma when you’re away at college, or for business travelers to catch up with family and coworkers from anywhere with Wi-Fi.

To use FaceTime, you must be connected to WiFi.

Make sure the toggle is on and choose a WiFi network.

Then tap your home button to return to the home screen. Once you’ve done that, tap the icon.

Tap once in the phone app.

Select the person you want to FaceTime, and then select .

You can search for the contact’s iPhone or Email address. If the person you want to FaceTime has an iPad, you’ll want to search for their email address.

Choose which way you want to contact them and you are now on a FaceTime call.

Unfortunately, there is no way to make FaceTime calls to Android or Windows phone users. You don’t need to know if someone has an iPhone or iPad to make a FaceTime call, but if the recipient doesn’t have an Apple device, you’ll see a “FaceTime Failed” message.

To search for an iPad, you need to look for the correct email address, so if you know someone has a FaceTime compatible device, be sure to check their email address.

With FaceTime, Apple is making it super easy for its users to connect in a newer and more friendly way. Unlike phone calls, many people prefer to schedule FaceTime calls because of the need for WiFi and being able to see each other.
