The Genshin Effect Dendro Hypostasis is very well hidden in the Great Red Sand, but this guide will help you find it. Once there, it’s handy to know Dendro Hypostasis’ attack patterns and be prepared for the restoration phase. Proper team composition is key to winning this new Genshin Impact 3.2 boss fight. We’ll give you a hint: bring a Dendro ally.
Here’s how to find the Dendro Hypostasis location and defeat it.
Genshin Effect Dendro Hypostasis location
Dendro Hypostasis is located in the Great Red Sand desert region, the western part of Sumeru. When you unlock this area, you will see a location marker south of Dar al-Shifa. Although the location of Dendro Hypostasis appears to be above ground, it is actually inside a cave. Also, do not try to reach through the Dar al-Shifa tunnels, as the caves are not connected.
To find Dendro Hypostasis, start at the nearby Teleport Waypoint to the west of the marker. Walk south and look down: under the cliffs there is a path leading to a tunnel on your left. If you glide down, you will see the cave open as shown in the picture. Follow the tunnel until you see Dendro Hypostasis.
Genshin Impact Dendro Hypostasis awards
Defeating Dendro Hypostasis is rewarded with the usual Artifacts, Mora, and Adventurer’s Experience. More importantly, Dendro Hypostasis can drop the Quelled Creeper and Nagadus Emeralds required to upgrade the new five-star character, Nahida. Here is a list of all Dendro Hypostasis awards:
- Quelled Creeper: Ascension material
- Nagadus Emeralds: Ascension Material
- Gladiator’s Finale: The Artifacts
- Wanderer’s Troupe: Artifacts
- Adventurer’s Experience
- Morea
Genshin Impact Dendro Hypostasis attacks
Dendro Hypostasis has some powerful attacks, but nothing you can’t handle with proper preparation. Here’s what to expect:
- Vine attacks: The hypostasis becomes a big vine and performs three swipes in a row. Watch out for the third one as it is quite powerful and has an extra high range.
- Root attack: Hypostasis dives underground and causes large roots to appear where you are.
- turret attack: From its static position, the hypostasis shoots the Dendro spheres into a large plant.
- Dendro ball slam attack: Dendro Hypostasis transforms into a large ball and tries to hit you from above up to three times.
- Tree circle attack: Dendro Hypostasis transforms into a tree and summons a root circle around its location. The circle will gradually shrink, leaving the central core exposed. Attack the core but exit the circle before the third shrink phase as this will trigger an area of effect Dendro explosion.
Genshin Impact Dendro Hypostasis battle tips
Dendro Hypostasis’ basic core is revealed after triggering the aforementioned attacks, so try to hit it as often as possible. Bring your strongest allies, but remember that this boss is immune to Dendro damage. When you consume the HP bar of Dendro Hypostasis, it will enter a healing state, dropping three Restorative Essences onto the battlefield.
This is very important: The only way to get rid of this effect is to apply Dendro on the Restorative Essences and ‘clean’ them. So, you can’t beat Dendro Hypostasis without a Dendro character on the team! If you don’t have any Dendro characters, enable the Explorer’s Dendro Item. Don’t worry about attack damage; Restorative Essences respond to a Dendro attack, regardless of strength.
While not required, you can bring in an Electro character to activate Restorative Essences after using Dendro. This will speed up cleaning.
Good luck against the Dendro Hypostasis Genshin Impact boss!
