How to Make Your Android Faster in 3 Steps (Video)

Android smartphones and tablets are pretty fast these days, but if you’re looking for an easy way to make your Android smartphone or tablet even faster, we’ve got you covered.

Now there are many ways to modify and speed up Android. Most of these require 3rd party apps or software, rooting your phone (the Android version of Jailbreak), installing custom ROMs, or even hacking and overclocking your device. We will not cover any of them. For beginners looking for a simple way to speed up your phone in seconds without any knowledge or special apps, below is a quick video of what and how to do it.

Most Android phones from last year have powerful dual and quad core processors, 2GB of RAM just like the old laptop from a few years ago, and are extremely fast. However, there are still millions of mid-range smartphones and tablets, not to mention that even the fastest high-end Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One can always be better.

When navigating the hidden developer menu on Android smartphones and tablets, there is a very simple setting to control animations and transitions. Think of the smooth fade-in effect when switching from settings menu to settings menu, or the animation that occurs when opening and closing applications or even opening the application tray. All of them to look clean, but don’t serve too great a purpose. All we do in the video above (and the instructions below) is to turn off or disable animation effects for a faster experience.

Instructions

First you will probably need to access the hidden developer menu in the settings on your phone. It’s just a few taps away and super simple. The video explains how to do it or check out the link below.

Essentially all you have to do is tap seven (7) times on the “build number” section of the settings > about phone > and about phone menu. This will enable the hidden developer menu and now you can easily speed up your Android in three simple steps.

Speed ​​up your Android

After enabling the developer options menu on your Android phone or tablet, you need to go to the menu and change the three options. We will go over all the steps once again with screenshots to keep things simple.

Go to Settings > Developer options > animations and transitions

Tap on Settings and go to Developer options, tap that and scroll down halfway through the three animation options you see in the screenshot below. You will want to replace these three and only these three. By default most phones are set to 1x or 1.5x and to speed things up we will reduce the animations to 0.5x. Some users may choose to disable them entirely, but keeping it at 0.5x will keep Android looking nice and smooth, even though it’s faster than ever.

Windows animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale will be the three steps you will take. Tap each in the box shown above and select “.5x” for each in the pop-up window. This will cut in half the animation and transitions your smartphone is making and make it run almost twice as fast.

Some users may prefer to disable them all together by choosing none or “off” in all three settings, which is fine, but we still prefer some style and effects while being quick.
