Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reiterated in his new Power On news release that Apple is well prepared for the launch. Two new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros by year end with M2 Pro and M2 Max chipsIt will directly replace the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips of the 2021 models.
He also notesApple is working on a new Mac mini, also equipped with M2 chip. This version of the M2 chip will be the same as the one that debuted on the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in June. However, that would not be all. The American tech giant would also plan to launch a brand new Mac Pro, a high-powered desktop computer.
Mac Pro will be a powerhouse in 2023
According to information from Mark Gurman, Apple has stepped up internal testing of the next Mac Pro. The high-end Mac desktop would have chips that are at least two or four times more powerful than the M2 Max processor. It is called “M2 Ultra” and “M2 Extreme”. Gurman expects the Mac Pro to come with the following options: 24 and 48 CPU cores and 76 and 152 graphics coresas with Memory up to 256GB.
According to previous reports, Apple could use the same fusion process to combine two M2 Ultra chipsets to make the M2 Extreme, as it did to create the M1 Ultra by combining two M1 Max chipsets. For now we imagine it isTSMC, which will be responsible for t Chip production, however, the chip must be fabricated at 4 nm as the 3 nm etching is delayed.
