How to open door using track track and sliding block puzzle in Scorn

The first Scorn door puzzle you find includes a block sliding cocoon puzzle and a railroad track and carriage to get what you need. It’s long and complex, and because the game doesn’t explain anything, it’s hard to fall into a cold a few minutes after starting it. So, here is everything you need to do to help you move the wagon, solve the cocoon block puzzle and open that door.

How to open the door in Scorn

Once you reach a large circular room with a tower in the middle, you will encounter this Scorn door puzzle. If you climb this central structure you will be able to get a bird’s eye view of everything to see what you need to do in general, as you can see below.

The circles you can see are the rail points you can interact with and use to change the direction of the track that revolves around the area, while the more bar-shaped outline in the middle/top is the car you need to drive.

The purpose of all this is to open this great door:

There are two terminals here: one that unlocks the door and the other that opens it. The problem is you have to hold the key in place to open it – as soon as you remove your key, the locks engage again before you can press the other button. And since the key has been grafted into your hand, you have to somehow find another key. Or hand.

If you’ve poked around at this point you’ll have found loads of machines and things to interact with, all of which seem to be missing something. Ignore them all for now and enter the small hallway opening just to the right of the main door. Follow it though and you’ll find a large circular elevator when it opens into a room.

Lift this elevator to reach the area below and start the first part of solving this puzzle.

Once you reach the top, ignore all the tunnels and other roads as you can’t do anything yet. Instead, go to the central area, which you can see above with the two terminals. Activate the central one first and you will see a large robot claw pick up a glowing cocoon that will scatter. Leave this terminal and use the one on the right.

Now you’ll have a sliding block puzzle that you have to deal with to get the only lit cocoon to the location of the broken one so you can choose it.

There are various pieces to move, consisting of single and double pods, and to solve this sliding block puzzle in Scorn, focus on getting the horizontal binary pieces we circled above to that position in the image. If you can get them all positioned so accurately, you’ll have room to move and release individual pieces beyond what you need.

After placing it, activate the middle terminal to move the cocoon below.

Find the car when you go back downstairs and you will see the cocoon you saved on the machine in front of you. Use the car facing terminal and you will be able to move a robot claw to pick up the cocoon and move it to the car. You will need to ‘use’ the cart to make the transfer.

You can now move the cocoon on the cart along the track. Push it into the suspended structure on the rail you see on the left in the picture above. Activate the nearby terminal and stick some kind of cap on the cocoon.

Then push everything along the rail as you can see in the image below.

This will allow you to push the scoop-like machine into one of the side rooms where you can find:

Push the trolley into place and then use the larger of the two terminals to control the robot arm. Again, move and position the lever and ‘use’ it to transfer the cocoon from the trolley to the machine with the scoop. Once it’s in place, pull the small button on the front of the scooper to scrape the creature off, leaving you on its arm.

And you’re almost done. But before you open the door, head back to the door and use the opening immediately to the left, where you’ll find another version of the machine you originally used to get your own key. To add a key, insert the severed handle into it and then you can use it. He unlocking, leaving it in place and opening the door to move forward.
