As a matter of fact, in the video we were able to see a Nintendo Switch screen with the icon for “Yuzu”, one of the most famous Nintendo Switch emulators, right next to other games such as Hades, Tunic and Vampire Survivors. Valve quickly fixed the bug, as the company rushed to delete the video before reposting with the game Portal 2 replacing the emulator icon.
Since its release, emulation or piracy has played an important role in Steam Deck and an interesting selling point for many gamers. For PSP, PS3, Saturn, PS1, and even Xbox games, the Steam Deck has proven to be a great choice for nostalgic gamers. But by deleting the video, Valve pretends to ignore the emulation scene on the Steam Deck.
Anyway, for those who don’t know, Yuzu allows people to play Switch games on other devices. While some people are hacking Switch games they probably use the emulator, It’s also possible to legally buy a Switch game, flash the ROM to a PC, and then use Yuzu. or another emulator to run, at higher resolutions and frame rates than is usually possible on Nintendo’s device.
