We have yet to see a new jailbreak for the iPhone or iPad since the first jailbreak when iOS 9 was first released, but an iOS 9.3 jailbreak looks more promising. That’s when we think we’ll see it released.
iOS 9.3 has been announced, but not yet officially released to the public. It is currently available in beta mode for developers and users enrolled in Apple’s public beta program to try out. iOS 9.3 is in its sixth beta so far, and this will likely be the last or second-to-last beta we’ll see before iOS 9.3 is officially released to the public.
However, the iOS 9.3 jailbreak is another beast entirely, so while iOS 9.3 will be released soon enough, the iOS 9.3 jailbreak release is a different story.
iOS 9.3 comes with a host of new features that greatly improve iOS 9, including improvements to Notes and News, as well as a new Night Shift mode that turns the screen’s color temperature to a warmer tone at night to avoid eye strain.
In any case, if you’re looking forward to the iOS 9.3 jailbreak, here’s what you need to know so far and when it will be released.
iOS 9.3 Jailbreak Status
Since iOS 9.3 has been in beta for some time, individual jailbreak developers have been given a chance to review the code and find possible exploits that could lead to jailbreaking.
A video from the developer qwertyoruiop by showing a jailbreak running on a previous iOS 9.3 beta, proving that iOS 9.3 jailbreak is possible, at least now.
The developer said we won’t be publishing their exploits and information about it, but this is proof-of-concept that it’s possible. However, it is likely that developers who want to release a jailbreak will eventually be able to figure it out and jailbreak iOS 9.3.
The developer enMTW, who intends to release a jailbreak, recently published a message. screenshot of iOS 9.3 beta 3 jailbreak which he created. Unfortunately, nothing notable happened after that little teasing, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled back a little.
iOS 9.3 Jailbreak Release Date
Currently, there is no word on when or if an iOS 9.3 jailbreak will be released or released. Obviously, iOS 9.3 will need to be released first, but even the iOS 9.3 release date is unknown at this point.
That said, iOS 9.3 is likely to come out a few days before Apple’s rumored March event, or even before event day. It is said that Apple will hold an event on March 21 to announce iPad Air 3, iPhone SE and some minor Apple Watch updates.
If iOS 9.3 is released that day and an iOS 9.3 jailbreak is discovered, the jailbreak is likely to arrive shortly after iOS 9.3.
Of course, this is pretty promising and it’s entirely possible that we won’t see an iOS 9.3 jailbreak right away. Having thought that an iOS 9.2 jailbreak will be released soon after iOS 9.2 is released, it’s not too hard to be skeptical about new jailbreak releases.
