Reddit user Kolrich It’s level 22 in Pokémon Go, and he shares his advice on how to play the game as you progress. These Pokémon Go hacks will give you an edge and help you avoid wasting Stardust and more.
Where to Find a Rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go
The first thing Kolrich deals with are persistent questions about where to find a particular Pokémon. Some users are searching for Pikachu, while others are after a rare Pokémon.

You probably won’t find rare Pokémon that hang around your house in Pokémon Go.
Kolrich’s advice is, “Literally any populated area. During a storm of electric Pokemon, the wind is blowing at 23 MPH and you’re walking downhill to the north. I couldn’t find any evidence to support this.”
He adds that you’ll find some core Pokémon more often in some areas than others, but not as clear a relationship as some anecdotal reports suggest. The biggest tip is, “You can find almost all Pokemon anywhere except in extreme rural areas.”
Should I use Stardust to Boost my Pokémon CP?
The temptation to raise your Pokémon CP with Stardust is great when you catch Pokémon, but you should wait until you level up, according to Kilroch.
When should you use Stardust in Pokémon Go?
“I don’t believe anyone should boost Pokemon below level 20-25. Your main focus should be leveling up. As you level up, you will find stronger base CP Pokemon.”
If you use your Stardust to level up a Pokémon too early, you can waste your stardust by replacing it with a Pokémon after a few levels.
When Is the Best Time to Increase My Pokémon’s CP?
Kilroch shares that it doesn’t really matter when you increase your Pokémon’s CP. It doesn’t make a big difference if you increase it before or after you evolve, but the player warns that “raising 350 Eevee to 450 will cost significantly less stardust than increasing 900 Jolteons to 1150.”
How Much Can You Claim Pokémon Go Gym Rewards?
You can collect your rewards as soon as you enter a Pokémon Go Gym, but only every 21 hours. Kiroch recommends waiting until you’ve finished playing for the day so you can get the maximum rewards for the day and be ready to hit the road in the morning.
Can I Stack Incense with a Charm in Pokémon GO?

While anyone can see a Pokémon drawn by a Charm, only you can see a Pokémon drawn by an incense.
The big detail that Kilroch mentions is, “Multiple players with incense active in the same location can see Pokemon from the same incense origin.”
What’s The Fastest Way To Level Up In Pokémon Go?
There are many strategies when it comes to leveling up faster in Pokémon Go, but Kilroch shares the four hacks you need to increase your XP faster.
If you’re going XP, evolve Pidgeys, but don’t go for this router, you’re going gym Pokémon.
What Should You Do When Your Pokémon Go Bag Is Full?
If your Pokémon Go bag is full and you’re running out of Pokéballs, you should delete some of your potions, revives, and Razzberries.
Kilroch says, “You never need 90. At lv20 you will have 3 different types of Potions and Pokeballs. I never keep more than 60 total potions and 40 revives on me. I delete the excess. The rest of the room I kept for Pokeballs. After level 20, you’ll have CP56 Pidgeys running away from Pokeballs and running often. You must have a lot of Pokeballs. ”
Pokémon Go Etiquette Tips
When you’re outside and about to search for Pokémon, don’t go into people’s backyards or enclosed spaces – especially not in a public zoo for hours.
Kilroch shares a PSA with a good list of Pokémon Go etiquette that players should keep in mind.
In general, try to remember that there are other people who are not playing. If someone asks about the game and you have a minute, explain to them how to play Pokémon Go and show them around a bit.
