Samsung has brought its ‘Good Lock’ personalization app back from the dead, and the app brings a ton of customization options to the company’s compatible Galaxy smartphones. As of now, Good Lock is compatible with Galaxy branded smartphones running Android 8.0 Oreo and higher and is available from the ‘Galaxy Apps’ store in select countries, according to the company’s official press release regarding the app. We got our hands on the Good Lock app and played with it on our Galaxy S9+. Here’s how you can customize your Galaxy smartphone using the Good Lock app.
Personalize Your Galaxy Smartphone with Good Lock
The Good Lock app is less than an app, it’s a container for a bunch of separate apps that work together to completely personalize your smartphone. Inside the Good Lock app you will find the following options:
- Lock Star
- Fast Star
- Mission Switcher
- clock face
Some phones may also have a ‘Routines’ option, but we didn’t get it on our Galaxy S9+.
Lock Screen Customization
With LockStar you can completely change the way the lock screen looks on your Samsung phone. You can create multiple lock screen themes and apply them whenever you want. Here’s how:
- On LockStar, tap . ‘plus’ icon ‘Style’ card.
- Choose background type You can choose one of the backgrounds suggested by the App you want for your lock screen or choose an image from gallery additionally.

- After doing that, tap on it. ‘Hour’ Press the button at the bottom to choose the clock style for the lock screen. Choose clock style If you want, I chose this cubic style.

- Next, tap on ‘Icon Visibility‘ select what you want to see on the bottom ribbon and lock screen. I want a completely minimal look, so I’ll deselect everything but the clock.

After doing that, tap on it. ‘save’ top right to save your template and apply it automatically That’s it, you’ve successfully changed the look of your smartphone’s lock screen.
Quick Settings Panel Customization
With QuickStar you can customize the look and feel of the Quick Settings panel and Status Bar on your phone. You can change the color scheme of the panel, choose which icons to show, and even add a multi-window button to notifications.
Change the color scheme for Quick Settings:
- On QuickStar, tap . ‘Painting.’

- you can here choose one of the suggested colors or create your own plans. To create your own theme, tap the plus icon It’s under ‘I can’t paint’.

- Change Color 1 to set the color of active Quick Settings icons.

- Change Color 2 to set the color of inactive Quick Settings icons.
- You can also change the ‘Background Color’.

- You can do set background transparency if you want too.

- You can do it too enable or disable blurring and dimming When the Quick Settings pane is dragged down, the background

- When you’re done, just tap on ‘Save,’ and then tap on ‘To apply’ to immediately apply the changes to the Quick Settings panel.

Select the icons that appear in the Status Bar:
- Tap on ‘ on QuickStarSimple Indicator.‘

- you can here toggle icons. For example, I chose to hide the battery icon because it takes up too much space.

- You can hide/show icons according to your preferences and come back when you’re done. this changes are applied in real time.
Customize Recent Apps
With the ‘Task Switcher’ option you can change the way the Recent Apps screen works on your phone.
- You can choose the scroll effect you want from the following options:
- Cube
- Cube Output
- Linear
- Scale
- Flip Up
- Turn Down
- If you want, you can also choose to enable ‘Mini Mod.‘ This basically makes the latest apps appear at the bottom of the screen on small cards, which I personally love a lot.
Customize Watch Face Always On Display and Lock Screen
With the ‘ClockFace’ option you can also customize the style and color of the clock that appears on the Always Display and lock screen.
Customize Clock Face for Lock Screen
To choose a custom watch face for your phone’s lock screen, simply follow these steps:
- If you’re not already there, Tap on ‘Lock Screen’ from the top bar. You can swipe through a variety of designs to choose from.

- After choosing a design you like, customize color clock face.

- just tap on ‘Completed’ and your changes will be saved.
Customize Watch Face for Always On Display
To customize your phone’s Always On Display watch face, follow these steps:
- Tap on ‘Always On Display‘ from the top bar and select the watch face you like.

- After making your selection, change color the clock face too.

- just tap on ‘Completed’ and your changes will be saved.
