How to Set Up Google Calendar on iPhone

Google makes one of the easiest-to-use calendar services on the Internet. If you’re using an Android phone, simply sign in to your phone and everything will sync automatically.

However, if you’re using an iPhone, you’ll have to take an extra step – here’s how to set up Google Calendar on iPhone.

Now that you want to add Google Calendar, let’s say you already have a Google Account. If you don’t, you’ll have to Create one on Google’s Account pages.

This section is where you can add your calendar to iOS. You need to tap Add Account and then select Google from the list of default providers. Sign in to your Google Account here; the next screen shows a list of permissions to access your Google Account: view and manage emails, view and manage calendars, etc. Tap Allow.

The final screen features a series of account toggles that determine what data is synced between your iPhone and Google servers. These are useful if you don’t want to receive email on your mobile device but don’t want to sync your calendar (or vice versa).

If you see a Gmail account already listed, you may have added it when you first turned on and activated your iPhone. Tap the Gmail account in question to make sure your Google Calendar has been added. It will bring up the aforementioned screen with toggle buttons for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes. Make sure the button next to ‘Calendars’ is green.

The point to be noted is that you are not limited to a single Calendar, so if you want to create multiple calendars and pick and choose which one goes to iPhone, you can.
