How to Stop Gmail Automatically Uploading Attached Images to iPhone and iPad
Several email tracking clients track when an email is opened and viewed using thumbnails and invisible images. They open the door for invasive features like “read receipts” and location tracking. By default, the Gmail app automatically uploads attached images so users can see them without waiting. For convenience, it helps. But in terms of security, it is not. Fortunately, there is a way to completely stop Gmail from automatically uploading external images.
1. Start Gmail app on your iPhone or iPad and then menu icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
2. Now scroll down and tap on it. Settings
3. Next, google account on the hill.
4. Next, tap . images choice.
5. Finally, “Ask before viewing external images” choice.
This much! Now, exit the settings. Gmail will no longer automatically show attached images.
If you reverse this, all you have to do is revert to the same setting and finally select Always show external images.
Note:
- The process for turning on image blocking in Gmail on Android devices is pretty similar. simply tap on menu button in the upper left corner of the screen > Settings > Your Account > Images. Finally, choose Ask before viewing external images option in the popup window.
- To set up image blocking in Gmail on the web, Click the gear icon in the top right corner > Settings.
- In the picture section, “Ask before viewing external images” option is selected.
