MultiVersus offers a wide variety of Warner Bros. A new platform fighter that makes the difference, providing fistfights between characters from their property. If you ever wanted to know who would win in a fight between Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy and Adventure Time’s Finn The Human, or if Arya Stark is a more adept assassin than Harley Quinn, then soon those theories will be put to the test. Here’s everything we know so far about MultiVersus, including when it’s coming out, how much it’ll cost, what formats you can play in, who’s on the roster, and more.

The MultiVersus release date is July 2022.
There is currently a MultiVersus closed alpha study that will conclude at the end of May 2022. This is limited to players who only get invites, but the good news for everyone else is that they don’t have much to wait. The MultiVersus release window is set to July 2022. There’s no exact date yet for that month, but we do know when the open beta will start, which means anyone can download and play the game. Like Fortnite, MultiVersus is likely to remain in open beta for a while before it goes into full release.
MultiVersus is free to play but there will be in-game purchases.
The better news is that MultiVersus is free-to-play, so there’s no cost to jump in and try it out when it’s released. As with most F2P games, in-game purchases will be available, but no details have yet been given as to how. The developers have confirmed that there will be “future seasons packed with content for players to enjoy”, suggesting that a season pass system could be implemented that can unlock characters, outfits, and more.
MultiVersus on PS4 and Xbox One
MultiVersus is available on PC via Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as giving players more options to join the battle on PS4 and Xbox One. What’s more, MultiVersus will have full cross-play support to allow battles with your friends on different systems, and cross-progression is available so you can move between platforms while keeping the overall progress you’ve made in your account.

So far, a list of 16 MultiVersus characters has been confirmed, divided into the following combat classes:

- Bugs Bunny – Looney Tunes (Mage/Ranged)
- Finn The Human – Adventure Time (Assassin)
- Garnet – Steven Universe (Bruiser)
- Harley Quinn – DC (Assassin)
- Iron Giant – Iron Giant (Tank)
- Jake the Dog – Adventure Time (Bruiser)
- Reindog – MultiVersus (Support)
- Shaggy – Scooby-Doo (Bruiser)
- Steven Universe – Steven Universe (Support)
- Superman – DC (Tank)
- Tasmanian Devil aka Taz – Looney Tunes (Bruiser)
- Tom and Jerry – Tom and Jerry (Mage/Ranged)
- Velma – Scooby-Doo (Support)
- Wonder Woman – DC (Tank)
You’ll recognize many of these names from their television, movie, and comic book appearances, but the Reindog is an exception as they’re an entirely original creature made specifically for MultiVersus. The developers also confirmed that “more characters will be added to MultiVersus continuously,” so expect this series to expand significantly in the future.
