Samsung Galaxy S3: comparative benchmark tests between several smartphones

Galaxy S3 benchmarks are swirling around the web. What if we compare them to other mobile devices?

HTC OneXSomebody, Galaxy Tab 10.1, galaxy s2… and even the iPhone 4S, it’s a non-exhaustive list of what you’ll see right after.

Is the Galaxy S3 announced as the smartphone of the year really in hardware testing? I remind you that benchmarks require a series of hardware tests such as the following. GPU speed, CPU computing speed, memory transfer rate,… When all this is done, it results in a “point”. This will define the “power” of the device. But watch out! Each benchmarking program is different, and most specialize in two or three very specific criteria.

So you’ll see the pictures, but I’m still going to show you what each program is actually testing, otherwise you’ll just see red and green bars that mean nothing.

one/ BenchmarkPi Galaxy S3

For this test, know the lower the score the better. Tests CPU speed. If you’re interested, the app is available on the Play Store:

2nd/ LinPack Galaxy S3

For this application, the higher the score, the better. LinPack also calculates CPU speed.

3/ Quarter Galaxy S3

The higher the score, the better. Quadrant is probably the most used and best known application for benchmarking tests as it is one of the most complete. Quadrant calculates the speed of the CPU, the power of the GPU, and the read and write speed of the internal memory:

4/ NenaMark 2 Galaxy S3

For this application, the higher the score, the better. NenaMark 2 simply takes care of the graphics part (3D/resolution), hence the GPU’s power.

5/ GL Benchmark Corn (except 720p) Galaxy S3

The higher the score, the better. This software allows you to test OpenGL, that is, the 3D graphics part.

6/ SunSpider Galaxy S3

For this test, the lower the score the better. SunSpider takes care of the JavaScript part of the mobile phone. If you want to do the test, go to: Sunspider website with your smartphone. Do nothing else and wait for the result displayed in ms (milliseconds).

7/ ScannerMark Galaxy S3

The higher the score, the better. This test, which should be started,publisher’s address and of course from your smartphone (or tablet’s) browser, calculating your surfing performance.

Pictures are better than words, right? Galaxy S3 quite simply, it’s an opponent you shouldn’t be rubbing your shoulders with with the sting of instant death.

Definitely not the best in all tests, but This is the set you should be looking at. It is the best device among those tested.
