Galaxy S8 / S8+: full dimensions compared to Galaxy S7, S6 and iPhone 7

The exact dimensions of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ have just been revealed by Onleaks, which presents its first comparison with Samsung’s next two flagship smartphones, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, as well as its predecessors, the Galaxy S6 and S7. in pictures, in pictures.

Galaxy S8 is slightly wider than iPhone 7 and narrower than Galaxy S6 and S7

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ should measure 148.90 x 68 mm for the former and 159 x 74 mm for the latter, respectively. The thickness of the two smartphones has yet to be revealed, but recently leaked images have already shown that they are just as thin as the two previous smartphones released last year. Expected with a large 5.8-inch screen, the Galaxy S8 will surpass the Galaxy S7 and S6 by about 5mm due to its 18.5:9 screen ratio, but not its width, so it should offer very good use. The S8+ will be 5mm higher than the Galaxy Note 7, but will offer largely the same width, again due to the screen ratio.

As expected, Samsung has increased the screen sizes of its two flagships but their dimensions are quite reasonable, plus the screen curves are supposed to be less pronounced than on the S7 Edge, ergonomics should be the appointment.

These images also confirm a trend we observed this morning. The Galaxy S8+ will offer dimensions very close to the iPhone 7 Plus, i.e. 159 x 74 mm for the former and 158.20 x 77.90 mm for the latter, but with a larger 0.7 inch screen. As for the iPhone 7, it will naturally remain the smallest among all smartphones in this comparison, but in width the S8 will measure only 0.9mm more and therefore offer an equally good grip.
