Huawei P10 VS iPhone 7: Is it really an obvious resemblance?

Mobile World Congress 2017 is still in full swing today, and our onsite team is busy bringing you the new mobile phones that were previously announced in person during pre-show conferences for manufacturers.

Huawei stood out this year by presenting the Huawei P10, which is still equipped with dual photo sensors but stands out for its flashy color options. Many of our readers quickly compared it to the iPhone 7… but is the resemblance that obvious? Answer in this comparison!

It is always difficult to compare the performance of iOS devices with Android devices as the optimization of one always opposes the raw power of the other. Also, while the 8-core and 4GB RAM Kirin 960 looks superior on paper, the calculation isn’t always correct.

But let’s add this: Chinese manufacturer Huawei has also come to the fore in the Android universe with the software optimization it offers to smartphones using its own processors. Also here we have two optimization champions that give you a smooth experience on both phones without any lag.

Huawei P10 VS iPhone 7: some design similarities and more

Huawei P10 VS iPhone 7

Strangely enough, the design similarities between the Huawei P10 and iPhone 7 are as hard to deny as it is to argue that they are. And to be quite honest… very common for all smartphones these days.

The application of metal along with the fingerprint scanner and antennas in our designs has resulted in many manufacturers putting antennas on their phones in a band similar to Apple.

This year, however, we can say that the P10 is equipped with a Home button on the front that integrates the fingerprint scanner just like the iPhone 7. Essentially at this point we see ‘manufacturer copying Apple’. , but it is not without originality either.

Especially since this year Huawei has sought out (or Apple did, lol) to design two new colors, green and very soft blue, which work perfectly with the very special coating on the back of this phone. Also, we tend to say that in the end it didn’t copy anything and is currently content to comply with the canons of the market.

Huawei P10 VS iPhone 7: two different philosophies in the photo

Apple has always been considered the champion of mobile photography, but that medal began to slip out of hand in 2016 when the Galaxy S7 and then the Google Pixel were recognized as superior.

The Huawei P10 once again includes the Leica certified RGB + monochrome dual photo sensor with some additional optimizations. It’s hard to have a direct duel on his abilities right now, but we can say this:

This Huawei P10 compares much more directly to the Plus model compared to the classic iPhone 7 model, but it has a different philosophy: When Apple opted for a Telephoto sensor, Huawei chose to combine RGB and monochrome for better rendering.

In fact, the latest Chinese phone also integrates bokeh mode from many devices in its smartphones. But by adding a very powerful black and white mode with this famous dual sensor, it ultimately makes it more fun than its apple rival. However, the final performance will of course be tested.

Huawei P10 VS iPhone 7: Let’s not forget the price too

The design itself is too different to directly compare, the cameras of one and the other develop different philosophies and both share the same philosophy about raw power: optimization comes first.

That said, we won’t deny that the iPhone 7 is probably more efficient on a day-to-day basis, thanks to the A10 Fusion chip, as well as the time developers spend optimizing their iOS apps. What’s more, it’s a bit more luxurious and offers IP67 certification.

However, the Huawei P10 also has many arguments: It’s more fun with its photos, more practical on a daily basis with Quick Charge and more customizable with many colors, it will please everyone who buys it.

After all, we always fall into the same stereotypes with Apple: Those who want Apple will get Apple. But those who actually compare the offers will realize that while the Huawei P10 is worth €599, the latest American device isn’t necessarily worth €769.
