Huawei P20 on one side and Galaxy S9 on the other, which is faster? That’s the question that the speed test video between the two smartphones, released at the beginning of 2018, is trying to answer. It’s one more factor to make your choice before buying a high-end Android, but of course it shouldn’t be the number one argument. Between the P20 and S9, decide on the smartphone that best meets your needs.
Huawei P20 and Galaxy S9 in video speed test
As seen in the video, the Galaxy S9 initially appears to be faster than the P20. If the Huawei logo pops up a little faster than the Samsung logo, it’s the S9 that sends us to the unlock screen the fastest and by a good margin. On the other hand, the P20 is more reactive during the unlock phase to bring us to the home screen. As a reminder, both smartphones have facial recognition, the fingerprint sensor is located on the back on the S9 and on the front on the P20.
When it comes to apps, it’s hard to pick a winner. Some launch faster on the S9, others on the P20. When the app is opened, the differences between the two smartphones seem insignificant. Of course, these results must be nuanced as we don’t have full details of test settings and conditions. But the video still offers an indication.
We must also take into account that here we are putting the Samsung flagship against the Huawei P20, while we are more accustomed to comparing the Galaxy S9 with the P20 Pro to identify the best smartphone of the moment. A minor precision though, the S9 used in the video is a European model and is therefore equipped with the Exynos 9810 SoC. So, are you more of an S9 or P20?
