In this context, the Youtube channel In-Depth Technology Reviews It decided to compare Siri and Google Assistant in their latest revision – a Pixel 4 XL running iOS 14 on one side and Android 11 Developer Preview on the other. We quickly understand the qualifications and faults of the two assistants. But what is clear is Google is way ahead when it comes to understanding context. For example, say “Send this photo to mom” while on WhatsApp and Google Assistant will be able to figure out which photo it is and to whom it should be sent.
But not Siri. Note, however, that in native smartphone apps like Messages, Siri understands context correctly, but this represents a very small percentage of apps. The only point where Siri catches up a bit is on the tracked interaction side. Google Assistant tends to stop very often after executing the last voice command.
