How to Find Post, Page, Category, Comment and User ID in WordPress

Represents an identity in WordPress A unique number used to classify certain items in the WordPress database. Almost every WordPress user needs this number at some point – usually when a WordPress theme or plugin asks you for it to perform a certain function. The ID may also be required when changing some codes. Different pages, posts, categories, comments, and users in WordPress all have their own ID, so we decided to show you how you can find all these different types of IDs.

Finding a Mail ID

There are two ways to find a post ID in WordPress:

: You can do this by accessing Posts > All Posts and then hovering your cursor over the post whose ID you are interested in. When you do this, a bar will appear at the bottom of the page and the post ID will be displayed at the bottom of the screen as a number then Message= and before &.

: when you do this, the post ID will appear in your browser’s address bar as part of the URL. (post=number).

As with the post ID, you can see the page ID by hovering over the page in the Pages list (Pages > All pages) or in the URL of the page.

As in the previous two cases, you can find the category ID you are interested in by hovering over the specific category there. Posts > Categories and wanted id=numberor you can find it in the URL of the category.

Finding a Comment ID

when you reach Comments You will be able to see the comment ID by hovering over the relevant comment from your Control Panel menu on the screen. The ID will be displayed as: c=number.

Similar to the other examples, an alternative option is To organise Click the button and view the comment ID in the URL.

As for the user ID, you can find it when you access it. Users > All UsersClick and hover over the Delete button below that user. The only user without the delete button is the Administrator and their ID is always the same (user_id=1).
