The Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ also include attractive hardware and software to take astonishing photos. But as we all know, it’s not just hardware features that make a great photo great. Camera settings also need to be adjusted to get the most out of the camera app.

1. Save Images in Efficient Formats

Without a doubt, the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 come with plenty of internal storage. Therefore, it makes sense to use this storage efficiently and wisely. If you want to save space, it only makes sense to save HEIF (High Efficiency Image File) format photos and HEVC format videos. These file formats allow your phone to take photos and videos much smaller than traditional JPG photos.

To make this change go to Settings, select Format & Advanced Options from the menu and toggle the HEIF images switch.

Similarly, go to video mode and select Advanced Recording Options. Once inside, toggle the switch next to High-yield videos and that’s it.

After that, the phone will save your photos and videos in more efficient formats without sacrificing clarity and detail.

2. Master Single Shot

Single Take is one of the most interesting features on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and is gold for people like me who love to take pictures. The best thing about the One Take feature of the GalaxyS21 is that you can fine-tune the recording time.

For example, if you want the recording mode to complete in 5 seconds, it’s totally doable. To do this, tap the timer icon in the lower right corner. Then drag the slider to the right.

Note that you can stretch it up to 15 seconds. Now all you have to do is tap the shutter button and you will see the magic come to life.

You can also choose which modes you want activated when taking Single Shots. For example, if you don’t want filtered videos, you can disable them.

In this way, your phone’s storage will be free from unnecessary videos.

3. Turn on HDR10+ Recording

The Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ also include HDR10+ support, which is great for taking photos and playing videos.

To enable HDR10+ on your camera, switch to video mode and then tap on Resolution. Make sure it is set to FHD here. Next, tap on Settings > Advanced Recording Options and toggle the switch next to HDR10+ videos.

For the inexperienced, HDR10+ allows the camera to capture an increased color range, making your videos more dynamic.

4. Enable 108MP Mode

Again, if you have a Galaxy S21 Ultra like me, you can shoot as 108MP. By default, all phone photos are pixel grouped, but you can enable the special 108MP mode.

Go to the camera app, tap the Ratio icon at the top and tap 3:4 108MP. Simple, right?

After that, the phone will take all the photos in high resolution. Don’t forget to reverse this setting when taking normal daily photos as 108MP photos are huge in size, otherwise your phone will soon run out of storage!

5. Create Funny GIFs

Another funny thing about Galaxy S21 Camera is that you can create funny GIFs from your own camera. Is not it beautiful?

Whenever you see a funny situation popping up, pick up your phone and slide the Shutter button down, that’s it. The phone will immediately start capturing images to make a GIF. However, make sure that Scroll Down is set to GIF in settings.

6. Use the Director’s Vision

By now, you must have already known that the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a multitude of video shooting modes, and Director’s view is one of them.

This mode allows you to record video with both the rear and front cameras working simultaneously, giving you more control over the videos you shoot. Wow, right? This mode is especially useful when you want to record both sides of the camera.

Select More from the ribbon below to open it and tap on Director view. All you have to do is start shooting.

7. Capture Moving Object with Ease

Go to Settings and scroll down until you see Auto Focus Tracking. From now on, your smartphone’s camera will keep the subject in focus, no matter how fidgety they move.

8. Change Skin Tone

Do you prefer warm color tones in your selfies? If your answer is yes, the Galaxy S21 has a secret trick for you. It lets you choose between two hues – Warm and Natural, so you don’t have to waste time in a photo editing app like Snapseed to change the color temperature.

Change the camera mode to selfie mode and then go to Settings. Once inside, scroll down until you see the Selfie tint option. Tap on it to select your preferred option.

9. Take Beautiful Vertical Panoramas

The Galaxy S21’s camera is pretty smart. It lets you shoot vertical panoramas as well as normal panoramas. Fortunately, you don’t need to make any special changes to the settings.

All you have to do is select the panorama mode and then move the camera vertically. The phone is smart enough to detect which direction the camera is moving and will start shooting accordingly.
