The header area is one of the vital parts of any web page. As the name suggests, this the part of the page where your title goesnaturally you want to pay extra attention to this.
When using a premium WordPress theme, all the content and settings you import are set to a certain default. However, you are in no way obligated to use these settings and content. This also applies to the header field. Some users like to turn it off, while others like to customize it to better suit their needs.
Qode Interactive’s themes are no exception. Each theme is preset title field that the user can change later to his liking. In this article, we’ll show you how to do that.

About the Title Area
As we explained above, when you purchase a theme and import its content, the settings will be the same as in the theme demo. This means that if a theme has a prominent header area on all pages, your website will have it too. On the other hand, if the theme creators believe your website will look better with a smaller header area, or perhaps one that only appears on certain page types, this is what you’ll get during import.
However, it is important to remember that all this can be changed quickly and easily.
If you imported one of Qode Interactive’s WordPress themes, two ways to customize header field settings:
Using the theme’s general settings. Changes made here are general, meaning they apply to your entire site and all its pages.
Using page or post settings. These settings will only apply to that particular page or post.
Having this kind of flexibility when setting the header field is very helpful. For example, you may want your blog pages to have a title field, but you may not want a title field on your shop pages. Or, you need the header field on your home page and not on any other page. With our themes, choosing exactly where and how your header area will appear is simple. Let’s have a look.
Customizing the Header Area from General Settings
When using one of Qode Interactive’s themes, your WordPress Admin menu will contain the general theme options for that theme. You can find these options in the menu on the left side of your control panel. Now, in our example we will use the Barista theme, so since Barista was developed by Edge, this options panel will be called Edge Options. However, if you are using a theme from one of the other authors that are part of Qode Interactive (Qode, Select, Elated or Mikado), the options panel will simply have the name of the author followed by the word “options”. ”.
Clicking on the options panel will reveal a list of settings. What we are looking for today is Title.
Note that the specific settings available may vary from theme to theme, but it is always sufficient to allow different combinations. The settings themselves are very simple and self-explanatory.
They are divided into two groups: Title Settings and typography.
Title Settings
Let’s take a look at some of the options here:
Depending on the theme, your Header Settings may also include other options such as: height, background color, background image, background image behavior, and such. You can find more information on all the available options and what each does in the theme’s documentation.

In this section, you can set your font and style. Title, Subtitle and Breadcrumbs (if you are using it).
Don’t forget to click Save Changes after you set your desired text color, font style and weight, as well as letter spacing and text conversion.
Note that some themes come with theme-specific header field options that other themes may not have.
Page or Post Settings
You can access the page or post specific header field settings by clicking the page or post you want to edit. Settings are located near the bottom of the edit screen.
This section may not cover all the options we see under the general header area settings, but it will have the most important ones.
Here you can decide whether you want it or not. show title fieldand specify header field type. You can also enable or disable breadcrumbs and separatorIf the theme allows, you can also animationsand vertical and horizontal alignment.
Other options may include background image, header field height, title tag, subtitles (with text, color, tag, padding), breadcrumb colorand such.
Again, the settings you make here will only apply to that particular page or post. Once you’ve set everything up, click on Save Changes and preview your live page to see if everything went well.

Whether you use a title field at all, or whether you choose to use it for some pages and not for others, is entirely up to you. The header area can make a good addition to the site architecture and provide an important visual and contextual cue, but in some cases it can be unnecessary or get in your way.
Now that you know how to easily enable, disable, and customize the header area for your website and pages, you just need to decide if you need it and how you want it to look and behave.
