Your ability to select high-quality transactional search queries for new articles is useless if you don’t know how to write articles. We will not discuss literary lessons and creative techniques here. In this article, we will present a concrete example of a technical task for a copywriter or content manager. Use the information to manage employees or organize your own business.
technical task
A technical task has two parts: the combined part and the individual part. The combined part applies to all tasks, regardless of content. As a rule, you meet him at the initial stage of cooperation. Later, this part was omitted from the new tasks as it became basic and applied by default. The combined part includes:
- The reader should receive the exact information from which he came;
- The “Title” has a human appearance and includes the main keyword + a few thematic words from the Google Ads Keyword tool. Additionally, the search engine results page should be worked on to make the “Title” unique;
- The title displayed on the site and the “Title” parameter may vary;
- The volume of articles is the same or greater than that of competitors;
- Make sure your text is unique. Write directly on the spot and stop beating around the bush;
- Use H2 subheadings and H3 if needed;
- Add image;
- Re-linking to old pages;
- Use lists: numbered or marked. Long lists are not a problem.
- If possible, integrate tables and a thematic video from YouTube;
- Do not be overly enthusiastic with complex sentences;
- Watch the size of your paragraphs.
The individual part of a technical task is created separately for each article. This is the most painstaking part of the study. We will dwell on each point in more detail.
answers of the questions
Search engines are not the only source of traffic. But no matter what channel you use to attract visitors, these visitors should always get what they come from from your articles. To be more precise, not only did they “came”, you “bred” them. The main task is to stick to the topic and attend to all questions.
The reader forms a preliminary view of what he has learned from the article. He forms this view with the help of:
- Title;
- Introductory part;
- snippet.
The snippet refers to the search results and is a block of information about the document found. It is displayed on the search results page.
The snippet is created by page. The author has a direct influence on this issue.
Heading, heading and subheadings
Search engines use a page title displayed in the browser tab to generate a snippet. Internal subheadings are also used for this. The formation of a “headline” is more about promotional success than the quality of the article.
When creating a title, we take into account the titles of competitors and try to create a unique title. For example, from the keyword “Flight tickets to London New York” you can create the following phrase: “3 secrets, how to buy cheap flights to London New York”.
Title physically displayed on the site:
- A page may differ from its Title;
- It can be original and not SEO oriented.
However, the article should not mislead users about what awaits them.
H2 subheadings and sometimes H3 should be used within the article. This is also taken into account when writing a snippet. Therefore, you can and should add additional keywords that are not included in the Title. Subheadings are also necessary for the logical separation of information.
Size and uniqueness
When focusing on search traffic, you should not forget the competitors. If it’s about competitive keywords, review the first 5 lines of the search results page before writing the material. The basic idea is to do better than others. Size is one of the objective criteria you can compare.
Don’t create an article with too much irrelevant information just for the sake of magnification. As a rule, the search engine has already distinguished your competitors before you know it. Highly rated pages are placed at the top of the search results pages. Focus on their average size for a single keyword or theme.
Uniqueness is important, but not the cornerstone of quality. In its pursuit, information can easily be lost.
100% uniqueness is desirable but not necessary. The ability to achieve the highest value is not always possible. For example, if the author quotes the official visa rules and requirements.
pictures
Always remember a few things when working with images on a page:
- add alt tag;
- Give the file a well thought-out name, for example: how-to-visa-to-usa.jpg;
- Compress images, reduce download time.
The images on the page greatly affect the page load time. And even in the age of high-speed Internet, it’s not out of place to save the reader some traffic and time.
Internal link
Add “Like” block etc for popular CMS like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and others. There are plugins that display it. Inexperienced webmasters replace it with internal linking, but this is simply misleading. The tool is designed for another task – increasing the number of views.
The actual link is designed at the time of posting, and it is appropriate to mention previous materials in the article.
Lists and tables
Such items present information in a concise and concise format. They enable the reader to quickly understand and appreciate the information. Bulleted lists do not necessarily contain 2-3 dots. If this is logically justified, they could be longer. When posting on the site, make sure that the bulleted list is copied from the Word document as the actual bulleted list, not just as black dots/dots. A real bulleted list in code
- should be displayed as a tag and each location
- …
- The reader will learn more;
- The time spent on the page will increase.
- Long paragraphs are a clear sign of messy thinking and poor presentation skills;
- A paragraph supports and elicits an idea;
- Express your thoughts effectively and clearly by separating them;
- Do not overload the text with complex sentences with two or more clauses.
- Short introductory part. Use the main keyword in the first three sentences;
- A brief history of the museum: who founded it, when and where? 3-4 sentences;
- Reference information: opening hours and days, location and nearest metro station, ticket prices. Pack them on a table;
- Write about all the halls of the museum. This part is the main part. Make a separate block for each hall. For example, the subheading “Hall of the Life of the Oceans” followed by the block about planetarium followed by the heading “Planetarium” and reference information etc. Each hall, including the IMAX cinema, has its own block on the territory of the museum.
- Short result.
should be included.
Include real tables, not picture tables. The actual tables are those that appear in the code:
. In this case, search engines will value the existence of such elements and this will have a positive effect on promotion.
Thematic videos
This is a wish and not a strict requirement for every post. But if you can attach a video, for example from YouTube, even if it is not yours, you better do it. Such an action will bring a number of advantages:
Second, it refers to behavioral factors taken into account by search engines when ranking results.
Complex sentences and paragraph sizes
Consider the following assumptions:
It would be ideal if the content of each new paragraph could be guessed and understood from the first line. This makes it much easier to read. It also helps those who are quickly rummaging through a page just to look for answers to their own questions.
Individual part of a technical task
This section has been created separately for each material. It reflects the information from which the author will prepare the material. For example, for an article about one of the museums:
Main keyword: #KEY#. Additional keywords: #K1#, #K2#, #K3#. Get info here: URL1 + URL2 or find your own source. In the article reflect the following:
This is a technical task for a copywriter. If you’re dealing with a rewriter, only the source URL is required because rewriting means rewriting someone else’s material in your own words. Rewrite costs less. You can manually create the resource from several sources to save cost without sacrificing quality. In the end, you provide your employee with a document that contains only what is necessary and in the required order.
In the end, you come up with quality text that contains exactly what you and the reader need.
